Subdued: Word of the Day

Subdued, adj.

Quiet; inhibited; repressed; controlled: After the argument he was much more subdued.

Miss Felicity was considered shy, subdued, but only by the people who didn’t know about her throwing knife collection.

Alternate usage:

“Were you ever in the military?”

“Yeah.  The navy.  Submarines.”

“No way, man!  You were a subdude?”

How will you use subdued in a sentence today?

  1. Not even going to check the dictionary on this one. Perhaps my argument has resulted in a subdued future, although I have insisted that I would protest to the female not the male in any other exhibition of female wiles on this website.

  2. But I will not be the ‘tool’ for compliments or flattery between two other people, under no circumstance again.
