A Musical Note: Mike and the Mechanics – In the Living Years

Some songs just stay in the background of your mind, of your life, and then one day just seem to “happen” to you all at once.

In the Living Years” is a powerful song, with a message and meaning for all.

I know I would have been a different person in the early 1980s when my father died if I’d heard this song first.

Let the emotions of this piece wash over you, and carry you along with them.

  1. It’s important to know your differences, as the song says, but this is only the beginning to overcoming them. The song needs a reprieve. But, it is good that you are not under the illusion, as is Spirit, that one should avoid the negative. – Rather it is the approach and recognition you take of the negative in order to overcome that is essential. The best to you. In other words don’t kill off your selves; it is better to integrate them.

  2. Excellent reminder not to take this moment for granted.

. . . it will never return again.

  3. A very lovely song! Something that hasn’t changed over the years! Oh! The 80s!
